Parents and Players

Matchdays

Matchdays should be a positive experience for every player.

Players should arrive at the time requested by their manager, wearing the correct kit and ready to warm up with their team.

Parents and carers play a huge part in creating the right environment. Please support all players positively, respect the referee and opposition, and allow the coaches to coach.

We ask parents and spectators to:

  • Encourage effort, teamwork and good attitude
  • Respect referees, coaches, players and opposition supporters
  • Avoid shouting instructions from the sidelines
  • Stay behind the respect barrier or designated spectator area
  • Help with matchday tasks where needed
  • Remember that development and enjoyment matter more than the scoreline

Grassroots football should be enjoyable, respectful and safe for everyone.

Matchdays should be positive and respectful for everyone. Parents, carers, players and coaches are expected to follow the relevant club Respect Codes of Conduct. Please also refer to our Team Selection and Playing Time Policy, which explains how managers make decisions around squads, positions and playing time.
